Run name: Team Congo PDX Group Walk/Run
Date: March 8, 2014
Registration/price: $25 day of registration
Location: Foot Traffic in downtown Portland
Events offered: 10k and 5k untimed group run/walk
Number of runners: 132 (capped at 175)
Beneficiary: Women for Women International's Congo Program
Packet pickup: N/A. If you purchased a shirt online ahead of time, you could pick it up the morning of.
Swag: $15 extra for a cotton t-shirt.
Parking: downtown parking... I paid $5 for all day parking in a parking garage a few blocks away.
Bag check: Yes.
Course: Parts of it were clearly marked with chalk, and volunteers at turns, but the last part was confusing. And since my Garmin had issues picking up my location for about half a mile, I couldn't tell how close I was supposed to be to the finish.
The race: It was alright out. Cool, with a little drizzle during the race.
Post-race: Participants smushed into the second floor of a nearby law office, and enjoyed cookies, Clif Bars, coffee and water, while looking at the raffle prizes. There was also a fantastic chiropractor who was doing short treatments.

Results: This was an untimed group run. I timed myself on my Garmin just to give myself an idea as to how fast I was running. I was pretty happy with my pace (8:19 min/mi).
