The "First to 15" challenge all started with a dress.
My friend Ardara found the cutest dress at Modao. There was only one, and we both wanted it. She tried it on, but it was a bit too small for her, and then I tried it on, but it was a bit too small for me also. We were both disappointed that although both of is could squeeze into the adorable dress, it didn't really fit either of us as well as it should. While we kind of relieved that it didn't fit both of is--because that probably would have led to a crazy brawl--we were both bummed about the whole thing. .
Over the past couple of weeks, we've both been thinking about the cute dress. And our weight. And setbacks. And getting back in shape.. And eating healthier food. And getting motivated. We had both been talking about it, but neither of is had been able to actually stick with it this time around.
And then somehow we came up with First to 15. Each of us wants to lose about 20lbs. Each of us wants the dress. Whoever loses 15lbs first, gets the dress (we split the cost, $11 each). There's no time limit, just whoever gets there first. It's a little unusual but it's a way to stay accountable and have a little fun, and work on our goals. There's nothing like a little friendly competition to get your rear in gear! ;) It's not JUST about the weight, that's just the measurement we've chosen to use since it's easy and accessible. But the real focus is on getting back to working out regularly, eating healthy most of the time, and fitting into the closets full of clothing that we already own! We just weighed in this morning and are both pretty stoked. To help keep ourselves on track, we'll be documenting our journey on social media using #firstto15!
