So wayyyy back in April, I was invited to a BurnCycle class just for bloggers. What is Burncycle? It's an 45 minute long, intense total body workout on bikes. It's like spin class on steroids. Times a thousand.
So this Burncycle for bloggers event was the day before my 18 miles (5 + Capital City Half in Salem) and it didn't seem like a good idea to do a crazy spin class the day before my longest run, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to try something new!!! For free!!! With other bloggers!!! And there were going to be mimosas afterwards!!!
So when I showed up, I didn't know anyone. The gals working at BurnCycle were super friendly, and the interior of the studio was modern yet homey and inviting. But once you get into the main workout room, it gets crazy. The lights are kept low, the music is intense and loud, and there's an awesome energy and intensity. I'm awfully uncoordinated and can never seem to pedal to the beat, but fortunately the dark room hid my sad attempts at rhythm. The instructor was awesome, yelling encouragement at all of us and pushing us to work just a little harder. The workout was still awesome and intense, leaving you feeling spent but energized at the same time.

And the after party at Christopher David was awesome as well! It was nice to sit down, and sip on complimentary mimosas with the other bloggers. It was the first blogger meetup that I'd ever been to, and it was so awesome! Overall, it was an awesome event and a great workout and networking opportunity. If you're looking for a fantastic 45 minute workout that's a step up from spin class, I really would encourage you to try out BurnCycle. It is a little spendy (about $13-18 a class), but I can see it being addictive.
