I had an awesome time at the 2nd annual Vancouver Winter Brewfest this weekend! It was a three day long event in downtown Vancouver's Esther Short Park in a big huge heated tent. There were 38 beers, several of them from local breweries, music, and a few snack and food vendors too (808 Grinds foodcart makes the MOST DELICIOUS garlic furikake fries, served with fry sauce... they're like crack).
Entry with a mug and 10 tokens was $15 if you preordered online, $25 at the door, or FREE if you volunteered for a three hour shift (this is definitely a fun event to volunteer at!) I did try all 38 beers--just a sip or two of each though, since I had a half marathon on Sunday. If you like beer at all, especially dark malty winter beers, you need to make sure you go to the Vancouver Winter Brewfest.
Have you been to any Brewfests? Do you prefer summer or winter brews?
