Chetana from StyleCraze has come up with a Valentine's Day nail art tutorial exclusively for Lipgloss+Spandex! Check it out...
Nail art has become increasingly popular these days and there is something in kitty for everyone. Patterns, prints, French manicures, stickers, decals, caviar art and lots more. But they are a few who are hesitant to try nail art as they think that it would be too hard for them to do it, but trust me it’s not that hard, even for the beginners.  Here is a simple tutorial for Valentine’s Day special nail art that you can try.

Step 1:

  • Apply a base coat and then apply a pale pink shade on the nails. I’ve used Avon nail wear pro French pink.
  • This shade serves a great purpose for a base coat and helps in getting deeper shade and patters.
  • Let the coat dry completely.

Step 2:
  • Now take a dotting tool. If you don’t have a dotting tool not to worry, you can use a match stick instead. Take a bit of nail paint on a clean surface and use the match stick to make dots on the nails.
  • Start with the nail on the thumb, leave the index finger and again dot on the middle finger.
  • Repeat on the smallest finger. Let it dry for a while.
  • I used color essence nail paint in 26 valentine.

Step 3:
  • Take a very fine brush and dip it in the same nail paint we used in the previous step.
  • Now without giving it much pressure make a shape of a heart on the ring finger.
  • After making the outline fill it up using light strokes.
Step 4:

  • Take a bright blue shade using the dotting tool/ use a new matchstick, make a dot on the index finger.
  • Make a big dot and leave the nail paint to dry.
  • I used Avon nail wear pro blue escape.

Step 5:
  • Take a fine brush and with the red paint draw the bows around the blue dot we made earlier.
  • First do the outline and then fill up with the nail paint.

Step 6:

  • Let the paint dry and apply a thin coat of clear topcoat to seal the design.
  • This nail art is very easy to execute and only needs few common colors to do, so anyone can do it.
  • Also this is pretty simple to do and looks great for the Valentine’s Day theme.
  • You can also alternate the shades used. A great choice may be to do the nail art on a matte white base and use a black border for the bow and the heart shape.
