I love Luckython. It's a fantastic event on a beautiful course, and like all Uberthons events, incredibly welcoming of runners and walkers of all speeds and abilities, and it's affordable! Luckython has a fun, relaxed atmosphere, but with good organization, high quality medals, and attention to detail. Last year, my friend Jacob and my BFF's neice Emily were new-ish to races, and both of them had a BLAST. If you haven't done an Uberthons event yet, you should come out and earn yourself a nice medal and meet some nice people :)
Last year I went all out with my fluffy green tutu, and there were many other runners also donning green outfits, so don't hesitate to come decked out in your finest Shamrock gear! I'm not sure what my "costume"/outfit will be this year though--I'd love to sew a brand new outfit but I'm not sure if I'll have the time for that kind of project. I'll be out there doing the 5k (my ankle was bugging me last week and I don't want to overdo it), and I'll be announcing the age group winners too! Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. :)
