The fourth annual North County Wine Run is scheduled for Saturday September 27, 2014 and will benefit the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation. Over the past decade, Clark County has become Washington's newest emerging wine region, with growth concentrated in the Battle Ground and Ridgefield areas. The North County Wine Run offers runners and walkers the opportunity to experience this beautiful region through half-marathon and 10K loops beginning and ending at Battle Ground Village in Battle Ground, Washington. On paved country roads, the routes highlight the gorgeous scenery of north Clark County: rolling hills, rural landscapes, and views of Mt. St. Helens.Registration includes a Race Tech T-Shirt, guaranteed if registered by September 1st, Race Bib, Logo-ed Wine Glass, Chip Timing, and Finisher's Medal for the Half Marathon.
We are also teaming up with North Wood Bar & Grill who is hosting a Brew fest and with the Outdoor Market who is hosting an Oktoberfest. Along with all the wine tasting, pasta lunch, music, award ceremony and action at the finish line you will now have an Oktoberfest and a Brew fest to celebrate your finish! All of these activities take place inside the Battle Ground Village. Make it a full weekend by participating in the packet pick-up dinner on Friday evening at the Heisen Vineyards.
The 9K loop is now a new 10K loop (without the monster hill!) The Half Marathon route is much more scenic and on less traveled roads!
I have not yet run this race, but I'm excited to run it this year! Participating wineries include Heisen House Vineyards, Olequa Cellars, Moulton Falls Winery, Gouger Cellars, English Estate Winery, and Emanar Cellars.
