The FlipBelt is a really simple but revolutionary product to go hands free. Made of machine-washable high tech Spandex-Lycra blend material with a single tubular pocket accessible from multi openings around the belts exterior. The openings lets you easily tuck in your phone, keys, gel packs, credit cards or whatever you may need for your workout. You then flip the belt inside out and everything gets locked in place. Because there are no clasps or buttons, you simply pull the belt on like a pair of pants and wear it wherever it feels most comfortable. It doesn’t move, jiggle, bounce or chafe and you could easily forget it’s even there. A simple, elegant and fashionable solution to a problem for all active types, gym rats, runners, hikers, bikers, and travelers. Weighing a mere 3 ounces, the FlipBelt is so sleek you can even wear it to go out under your clothes without having to carry a wallet or purse. Patented.
Product description: The FlipBelt is a great solution for people who like to BE PREPARED but don't want to lug around a purse or backpack or pockets full of stuff. The most obvious use of this product is for athletic activities, particularly running. A lot of athletic apparel lacks pockets, or has pockets that stuff could fall out of--no bueno. FlipBelt is great for a lot of different activities because it keeps your belongings safe while still being easily accessible, and without being cumbersome. I've used it during a race, and also on a long run around the neighborhood.
I'm also guilty of the legging-are-pants trend, and those don't usually have pockets either. I actually like using my FlipBelt for just day-to-day things also. When I'm biking to work or the store, it's nice to have my phone, ID and other essentials where I can get them quickly, instead of rummaging around in my backpack!
Materials: The construction of the FlipBelt is really actually very simple. It's basically a flattened fabric tube with openings in it. Depending on how you position the openings, objects can be secure but less accessible, or less secure but more accessible. The fabric is a thicker stretchy spandex-Lycra blend that's breathable and wicks away sweat. There's also a little clip for attaching your keyes.
Wearing it: I was worried that things might fall out, or that they'd bounce, or that there would be chafing, since I wore mine under my shirt next to my belly/hips. Even during my half marathon race, I didn't experience any problems with chafing, loose items, or bouncing. It's much easier than fussing with zippers and velcro! Even when I had my bulky little package of Energy Chews, it felt just fine!
Value: It's a simple but well-made product.
Love it or leave it? At $30, this might seem like an unnecessary purchase. I mean, you've made it through how many runs, and how many miles without a FlipBelt? But once you own it, you realize how much easier it makes your life!! I'm one of those people who thinks you can never have enough pockets. ;)
