While the holidays can really stress me out, there are some traditions that I really look forward to: doing a Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot with my friends, and family dinners.

There's nothing like logging a couple of miles and burning a couple of hundred calories before you go and stuff yourself silly later that same day! :) Since most of us run different paces, we meet up at the starting line, and then run our own paces separately or in pairs, and then wait for each other at the finish line! Even though we're not running "together" it's nice to hang out post-run. But during the run I focus on my music and my pace--I always have my iPhone on me so I can see my current pace and distance (I use RunKeeper, Nike+ Running, or Map My Run apps). This year I'll be doing the Turkeython 10k with my BFF Cari! I'm pretty excited because the medals are pretty sweet...

Family Dinner(s)

I've almost always gotten to have at least two Thanksgiving dinners since I was a kid. My parents got divorced when I was little, so my brother and I usually celebrated the holidays twice, once with each parent. It was pretty sweet most of the time.

When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, we always have stuffing. Stove Top stuffing. I swear I could eat that stuff til I explode. My other favorite Thanksgiving dish: pumpkin pie. If I had nothing but those two things for Thanksgiving dinner, I'd be happy. Although I'll be pretty excited if my mom makes eggrolls for Thanksgiving...

What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions?

Exactly, Cari! I'm not excited about it being super crowded, but it's almost impossible to find a Turkey Trot type race that isn't (or any holiday race, really!). The medal is going to be awesome...
