I'm a huge fan of LUSH, and have tried almost all of their products. There are very few duds in the bunch. And since I'm a huge fan of color cosmetics, I was thrilled when I heard that LUSH was putting out a makeup collection. I was confident that they would have fabulous colors that were amazing in terms of quality. Here are my first impressions:
The packaging is definitely cute--little bottles that looked like something in an apothecary. The price ($22.95) seemed a bit steep though). The little brush attached to the lid seemed to get easily frayed, most of the testers had a lot of gunky product buildup around the top of the containers, and the consistency and texture of the eyeliners seemed to vary quite a bit between shades.
I have to say, a lot of the shades let me down. Feeling Secure, Healthy, Fantasy and Success just didn't have the pigmentation I was hoping for. You could probably layer it on for more pigmentation, but with eyeliners I expect them to be pretty opaque and intense on the first swipe. The tester bottle of Control seemed a little dried out, so I'm not sure how it actually performs.
There were a few decent shades in the bunch though: Motivation, Dynamic, Quietly Motivated, Calm and In Charge were fairly pigmented and quite pretty. I actually ended up buying Quietly Motivated, but later returned it because it irritated my eyelids (full review to come!)
I know these swatches aren't great, but hopefully they'll be a little helpful to someone.
