I'm obsessed with stationary. I have an entire box of it, for all occasions. I can't just use anything--it has to be JUST RIGHT for the occasion and the recipient, so I need a good selection. I also try to avoid anything overly sweet and sappy...because that's just a little boring. Picking out a single Valentine's Day card at Hallmark can take me a good hour. Seriously.
But since email, Facebook, twitter, and all the other "new fangled things like that" came out, real letters and cards have gotten to be less popular. We're an instantaneous culture. I still think handwritten thank you notes are best, but for a lot of other occasions, a digital version could work too.
All the old e-card services (anyone remember BlueMountain?) were okay, but they didn't really seem to step up their game as technology advanced. That's where Just Wink comes in. It's an app that has funny/cute/snarky cards that you can send for free via email, text or Facebook. Or you can buy an actual paper card that Just Wink will mail for you! I first heard about it on We Heart This and was pretty excited, but it kind of went onto my mental back burner for awhile.... until I saw THIS:

ERMAHGERRRRD!!! It's a card store on wheels with a CAT IN AN ARGYLE SWEATER ON ITTTTT!!! I don't even know if I can begin to explain how excited this got me. And the nice girl was letting people pick a card of their choice for FREEEEEEE. I almost peed my pants in excitement (ok not really, but seriously, so many awesome things were happening in that moment). I had a hard time choosing, because there were so many awesome cards. And they were all nice thick paper, with nice envelopes, and some of the cards had GLITTER, and flocking, and embossing....
So then I went home and downloaded the app. At first it was running obscenely slow (taking thirty seconds to open something once I clicked on it), but I think that was because I hadn't completely removed Onavo Extend from my phone (that program messed up so much stuff... grr). Now it's much LESS SLOW (like ten seconds), but still a little too slow for my taste. I prefer using the online version, but I'm still glad I have the app on my phone.
