The Vancouver Winter Brewfest is definitely a blast. Although it was cold outside, inside the brewfest tents, it was nice inside! I'm looking forward to THIRTY FIVE different beers and ciders on tap. I personally love the Vancouver Brewfest not only because it's in my neck of the woods, but because SO MANY of the brewers actually came down to the brewfest and poured beer and talked about their beers. There were some awesome food vendors too (I really hope 808 Grinds food truck will be there so I can order some Garlic Furikake French Fries!!!). Good beers, good food, good people--the Vancouver Winter Brewfest is definitely a totally awesome, legit brewfest. I'm kind of a beer snob, and I love this event.
By the way, last year, I went to both the Holiday Ale Festival at Pioneer Square in Portland and the Vancouver Winter Brewfest, it's definitely worthwhile to go to both events because there isn't usually much overlap in the beer selection between the two events.
Also, volunteering can get you free admission and free tokens! I volunteered on two different nights and as a result, got to drink quite a bit of beer for FREE (click here for details on volunteering and to sign up)! One night I was a bouncer/keeping an eye on the VIP area, and the other night I poured beer with my friend Cari. "Working" at the brewfests is probably the most fun volunteer job ever.
Hope to see you there. :)
