The theme of the June 2014 BeautyBox5 is "Summer Chic":
Eslor Introductory Collection Calming Kit
(Soothing Refiner & Cleanser, Replenishing Scrub, Comforting Mask, Soothing Cream)
$28 for 2 fl oz, $28 for 1.7 fl oz, $38 for 1.7 fl oz, $65 for 1.7 fl oz
BB5: 0.68 total oz ($15.48 value)
While I like that there are four different samples, each pouch is only good for maybe two uses. For skincare, I like to try something for at least several days so there's time for actual results. The Soothing Refiner & Cleanser is a clear gel, and it did a nice job when I washed my face with it--not too drying, but definitely got my face clean. It did smell slightly too perfume-y. The Replenishing Scrub is a white cream texture with very coarse exfoliants. A little too gritty in my opinion. The other two items were alright, but not typically products that I would use with my oily/acne prone skin.

Nicka K New York Nail Color in Lavender $4.99 for 0.5 fl oz BB5: full-size ($4.99 value) This is my favorite product in this month's box! I was pleasantly surprised by how well this polish covered in two coats! Pastel polish is frequently streaky, but this one is FABULOUS, and less than five bucks (which is more than I can say about a certain $10 bottle of seafoam green polish that I tried recently...). The packaging is nice looking and sturdy, and the polish has pretty good length of wear. |
Organix Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner $7.99 for 13 oz BB5: 0.5 oz ($0.31 value) I have a LOT of hair, and with this particular shampoo and conditioner, I felt like I needed almost the entire pouch for just one use because the formula was a little more dilute than I prefer. It smells really nice--not like fake coconut, not too strong--just pleasant and like real, fresh coconut. It's also nice that it's sulfate-free. |
Glam Natural Mascara in Black
$28.00 for 0.25 oz
BB5: 0.124 oz ($14.00 value)
The good news: this is a natural formula and it doesn't clump. The bad newsL: the formula is WAY too wet--I ended up with raccoon eyes because it just got everywhere, and I don't usually have that problem with mascara. The brush is just your typical mascara spoolie.

Vita Bath Body Wash in Dreamy Pink Frosting
$7.95 for 12 oz
BB5: 2 oz ($1.33 value)
This smells like sugary deliciousness. LOVE it. It gets me nice and clean, and there's a bit of lather too. The sample has enough to last several showers, and the packaging is cute and simple.

The total value of the box is about $36, but most of the value is from the skincare and mascara samples, and I didn't care much for either of those. I LOVE the nail polish and body wash--I'd consider repurchasing those in a heartbeat! I used up the foil sample packs, but only because they were so small, but I wouldn't purchase those products, nor would I purchase the mascara. I was glad I had the opportunity to try them out before buying a full sized product (I had actually been considering the Organix Coconut Water shampoo and conditioner!), so even though they didn't work out, $12 for this box isn't a bad deal.
