Can you believe it's half way through DECEMBER already?! Things have been crazy and so I'm just now getting around to posting this review of the August 2014 BeautyBox5!
Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers five beauty or skincare samples to your doorstep for only $12 a month (and the shipping is free)! Ordering recurring boxes gives you an even greater discount--a quarterly membership is $30 ($10 per box) and an annual membership is $99 ($8.25 per box)!!!

LA FRESH Travel-Lite Oil Free Makeup Remover Wipes
8 ct.

These wipes are a bit on the small side.. The scent is nice and fresh, but it took a bit of effort and two wipes to get all of my makeup off. I'm sticking with my Neutrogena wipes, which are much LESS expensive, and much MORE effective.

Novex Brazilian Kertin Treatment
1 treatment

This was a nice treatment. I don't typically use hair treatments (mostly because I'm lazy and I want my regular shampoo and conditioner to do everything for me), but sometimes your hair really does need some extra TLC!

Nanacoco lip gloss in "Mysterious"
full sized gloss

I like this gloss A LOT. It has a very faint vanilla scent to it, and the amount of pigmentation and shine is PERFECTION. It's a really fantastic balance that gave my lips a nice amount of translucent pink color. This gloss also felt great on my lips and left them feeling moisturized. The packaging is also nice and simple but classy looking--especially for only FOUR BUCKS!!!

pur-lisse pur-protect spf 30 sunscreen
0.5 oz sample

The pur-lisse sunscreen I received is for normal-dry skin, and I have oily skin, so it's not a perfect match. But I do like how lightweight this sunscreen is, and how quickly it absorbs into my skin. While I prefer a formula with oil control for the summer months, this is a really nice sunscreen. A little spendy but during these winter months when my skin suffers and gets dry and I occasionally need some sun protection, I'm definitely using this sample.

Style Essentials Nail Polish in "Touch of Teal"
full-sized

This polish is affordable and fun! The color is a really pretty silvery teal pearl. The formula is above average and the packaging is simple.

August's BeautyBox5 had one dud (the makeup wipes), two all stars (the lipgloss and sunscreen), and two pretty good products (the hair treatment, and the nail polish). It was a nice mix of product types and price points. Definitely got $12 worth of stuff!

You said it had three decent products, but it was only two. Haha. I am only writing this so you know I really did read the entire review. MT, you are a hoot. Good job trying out the girly goods.

I missed the part where it said August and read the card like, summer is coming to an end? Huh? But I'm all here now. I like that color! It's really similar to a Revlon I found at Big Lots for $1. Yay for bargains! lol

Hahaha Amy, thanks for catching that! Apparently my counting skills aren't so good late at night when I'm blogging...I've edited the post :p

Kendahl, I get super excited about inexpensive beauty products that are awesome!
