I'm loving this new limited edition collection from Laura Mercier!
Laura's inspiration for 2012 draws from her background as a fine art painter and focuses on the mood and attitude of women through different art periods. For the holiday season, Laura was inspired by the decorative architecture, style and mood of the Art Deco period in Paris in the mid-1920's, most notably the beautiful paintings of the artist Tamara de Lempicka... Laura created rich makeup shades of gold, red and black to beautifully contrast each other and add sharp definition that is geometrical, powerful and beautifully ornamental.

This month, Laura Mercier is adding a lot of new products to their permanent collection. They have two completely new products--their brand new Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colours (which comes in 18 shades) and their brand new Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact SPF20 (which comes in12 shades).

In addition to these new items, they're adding more color options to their current permanent lineups of Laura Mercier Lip Liners (7 new shades) and are also adding a new fragrance, Ambre Vanille, to the Laura Mercier Bath & Body Collection.

I was excited to receive two products from this release to test out and review, the Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Rosewood, and the Lip Pencil in True Red.

My earlier swatches were on my arm, instead of my lips, so I figured I'd give you all a better idea of how it looks on my face. :)

Yep, I'm super tired of looking at my own face right now. Hopefully these swatches are helpful! :)

Check out my first review of Red Apple Lipstick here, if you haven't already! All of the Red Apple products are gluten-free, soy-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, allergen-free, and vegan. And the quality is fabulous.

Red Apple Lipstick recently released their first lip pencils ($20 regular price, currently on sale for $12.50!!). While these products are new to their line, the quality is fabulous.
These colors are super wearable, especially Brick and Mocha. Chocolate is a little too brown for my preference, but it's still quite pretty. The texture is fairly smooth, they're easy to sharpen, and the pigmentation is nice. I find that they last fairly long for me also, although as with all lipliners, they do tend to wear off slightly faster in the middle compared to the edges of my lips. There's no fragrance to these either, which I appreciate. I'm not typically a huge fan of lip pencils, but these are just plain practical to have on hand. My only complaint is that the regular price is a tad bit high, but they're great quality, and for $12.50 (currently on sale), they're a steal!

I don't always wear lip liner, but when I do, it's Red Apple Lipstick lip liner! :)
