Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Jungle

$24.00 for 0.05 oz.
Inspired by Laura Mercier's cult classic Caviar Eye Liner, Caviar Stick Eye Colour offers a new technique to enhance the smoky eye look.
This deep forest green color with a bit of shimmer is fabulous. The texture is very smooth and creamy, which allows it to apply without skipping or tugging at my lids at all. The color is deep enough to work as an eyeliner--it's a nice subtle alternative to black or brown. Even with its soft texture, this product stays in place all day, with no transfer onto my upper lid. As an eyeshadow, it works just as well.

Laura Mercier nail lacquer in En Pointe

$18.00 for 0.35 fl oz
Limited Edition
The ultra-smooth formula provides chip-resistant, fast-drying and long-lasting color. Nail Lacquer does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or dibutyl phthalate (DBP).
En Pointe is a semi-sheer light pink polish with just a tinge of peach. It's very "office appropriate" and also good for a "your nails but better" sort of look. Colors like this are great because even when they chip, it's hardly noticeable. Two coats will get you a fairly sheer coverage, while three coats creates a nearly opaque look.

Laura Mercier Mini Kohl Eye Pencil Collection

$32.00 for 5 mini pencils
Limited Edition, Sephora Exclusive

The most amazing thing about these pencils is their smooth, creamy texture. They're quite soft and blend nicely. These mini kohl pencils also perform fabulously on the waterline--they apply well, and stay nicely too! I didn't have any issues with smudging or transferring, which impressed me a lot. (Usually soft eye pencils get a little messy looking by the end of the day, but not these!)

The richly pigmented and multi-faceted shades are very wearable, no matter what the occasion. Dress them up with some shimmery shadow for going out, or pair them with neutral shadow for work. They're just shimmery enough to be interesting, but not glittery.

Each pencil is about the size of your standard deluxe eyeliner pencil sample.

Dress up your holiday look this season with Laura Mercier’s Petite Baked Eye Colour Trio – Wet/Dry. Featuring three Baked Eye Colours in a range of shimmering shades, this petite and portable palette is the perfect way to take your look from day to night. For an even wash of colour, apply dry, or for more vibrant shimmer, simply dampen brush with water and apply wet.

Swatched dry on bare skin
This cute little baked eye shadow trio would make a great stocking stuffer! It's just glam enough (the little bits of sparkle are so fun), and I love that you can go bold by using it wet, or go subtle by using it dry. You can get a really intense metallic look by using them wet. You'd think that a basic silver/grey/black palette would be boring, but I like that there's depth to these colors. The darkest shade is a little patchy when used dry, but works well when used wet as an eyeliner. I appreciate that there's a mirror inside (I can never have enough mirrored compacts! Seriously!). The length of wear on these was pretty good--I always use eye primer though, especially when using baked shadows dry.

Just an FYI, the Golden Metallic petite baked eye trio is gorgeous too--I swatched it at my local Laura Mercier makeup counter and just loved all of the pretty colors.

If you love baked eyeshadows, or know someone who does, I highly suggest that you pick these up!

I'm loving this new limited edition collection from Laura Mercier!
Laura's inspiration for 2012 draws from her background as a fine art painter and focuses on the mood and attitude of women through different art periods. For the holiday season, Laura was inspired by the decorative architecture, style and mood of the Art Deco period in Paris in the mid-1920's, most notably the beautiful paintings of the artist Tamara de Lempicka... Laura created rich makeup shades of gold, red and black to beautifully contrast each other and add sharp definition that is geometrical, powerful and beautifully ornamental.

The Look:
Laura created rich makeup shades of gilded golds, glamorous reds and striking blacks to beautifully contrast each other to achieve a beautifully ornamental look. Play up eyes with Illuminating Eye Colour in Gilded Moonlight, as seen on Marchesa’s Fall/Winter 2012 runway;  Makeup artist Talia Shobrook used this eye colour to create glamorous gold-rimmed eyes. Golds and bronzes are paired with high-shine reds and deep blacks. Eyes are sharply designed and defined – lined in black, with gilded shimmer eye colours as a beautiful golden background. Lips wear super-shiny red lacquer.

This month, Laura Mercier is adding a lot of new products to their permanent collection. They have two completely new products--their brand new Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colours (which comes in 18 shades) and their brand new Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact SPF20 (which comes in12 shades).

In addition to these new items, they're adding more color options to their current permanent lineups of Laura Mercier Lip Liners (7 new shades) and are also adding a new fragrance, Ambre Vanille, to the Laura Mercier Bath & Body Collection.

I was excited to receive two products from this release to test out and review, the Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Rosewood, and the Lip Pencil in True Red.
