Yeah, not a very creative post, I know. But for some reason I felt compelled to join in on this alphabet meme!

Age: 25. But I look a lot younger. :(

Bed size: Queen.

Chore you hate:  All of them? That's why they're CHORES. Cleaning the bathroom is probably the worst though.

Dogs: I had a good mutt growing up. No pets right now, but maybe in the future.

Essential start to your day: Snooze button. Wash my face, brush my teeth, MAKEUP. And COFFEE.

Favorite color: Pink.

Gold or silver: Silver, white gold, or platinum.

Height: 5’5.5"

Instruments you play: Um I can play the guitar and drums in Rock Band. I used to take piano lessons, but I wasn't very good.

Job title: Paraeducator.

Kids: Are a lot of work. Are full of potential. I don't have any of my own right now, and I'm cool with that.

Live: In Washington State.

Mom’s name: Van.

Nicknames: "Robot," "Mar," "Kitty"

Overnight hospital stays: Nope.

Pet peeve: Lying, laziness, hypocrisy. Having someone's beliefs forced upon you.

Quote from a movie: "As you wish." from the Princess Bride <3

Righty or lefty: Righty.

Siblings: One brother, four half brothers, one half sister.

Time you wake up: My alarm is set for 6am. But I usually hit snooze a few times.

Underwear:

Vegetables you dislike: I like most vegetables? But okra grosses me out. It's a texture thing.

What makes you run late: Taking too long to decide what to wear, or what to eat, or doing my hair or makeup.

X-Rays: Just teeth at the dentist's office.

Yummy food that you make: Um. It's better if it only requires me to put it in the oven/microwave and set a timer. I am cooking-challenged. I can make a decent Vietnamese curry though! From a recipe. But still!

Zoo animal favorite: Sea otters. They're so cute. And they use tools! So clearly, they're adorable AND smart.

  1. Today was a SNOW DAY! I was super excited when I found out because this is our first snow day in the past two years :) We only got about three inches of snow, but that's enough to cause our city to go into a panic--schools close down, people stay home, the news stations report only snow-related news. I did a lot of really exciting stuff. Like nap for a few hours. Read Star magazine and did the celebrity crossword puzzle and word search. And it was AMAZING. I'm kind of hoping for another snow day tomorrow, but chances are I'll have to go in to work. :(

  2. I'm going to try and blog every day for the next week. Starting yesterday. Haha. That means I'm already 2 for 2! But seriously, I'm going to try and be a better blogger.

  3. Marathon training is kicking my butt. Monday I did my 18 miler, and this weekend I have a 20 miler. My feet are puffy. My calves are still a little sore.
And I'm struggling even more mentally.

D & G L'Imperatrice Eau de Toilette
Price:  $65 for 3.3 fl. oz.

Description: L'Imperatrice (The Empress) is part of The D & G Anthology of five Tarot-inspired fragrances. "L'Imperatrice is a confident, charismatic, boundary-shattering blend with a top of rhubarb, kiwi accord, and red currant; a heart of pink cyclamen, watermelon, and jasmine; and a base of musk, sandalwood, and grapefruit wood. The impression channels a successful, compelling character that is neither male, nor female, nor unisex, moving with dynamism to the free, edgy style that marks the D&G fashion empire. "

Review: I personally feel that this is a very feminine fragrance, as it is almost entirely a fruity/floral mix of scents. It is sweet, without any musky undertones, nor are there hints of sandalwood (I'm not a fan of either). I would probably describe it as flirty and sensual.

PROS: The scent is amazing! I've had people comment on how much they like it, including the boyfriend :) The bottle design is simple yet elegant. Decent price, although I waited to get mine until the 20% off sale at Sephora inside JC Penney's!

CONS: The scent doesn't seem to last that long on my skin. The lid isn't very cute--it doesn't seem to go with the rest of the packaging, because it looks a bit cheap.

Overall, I think this is a great fragrance. I don't mind reapplying throughout the day, and would definitely repurchase it.

About a month ago, I started training for my second marathon. I haven't actually signed up for the race yet, but I've been training. On the long runs I've done at a slower pace, I go crazy wanting to be done. On the long runs I've done at a fast pace, I go crazy because my body is just beat. In either case, I'm mentally swearing like a sailor for the last few miles.

Sunday morning, I thought to myself, "Do I really want to do this? Do I really want to do another marathon?" Maybe if I sign up and it's official I'll feel more dedicated to training because I can't back out. Maybe it's because I know how hard training is. Maybe because it would be so much easier to just focus on improving my half marathon time.

My marathon training buddy is feeling the same way (she hasn't signed up yet either). That was kind of a relief to hear, realizing I wasn't the only one having second thoughts. It's a lot of work, a lot of hours... But I love a challenge. I need a challenge. Because working out for the sake of working out isn't enough for me. Working out to burn calories isn't enough for me. I want something measurable. Like a PR. :P

Runners, how do you stay motivated?
